What Is the 200D4864G023 GE Refrigerator Main Control Board Replacement?
This is the GE main control board stamped with production number 200D4864G023, built for GE refrigerators. It switches the compressor on and off, sequences both the condenser and evaporator fans, opens and closes the air damper, times the defrost cycle, and on this design carries the voltage that lets the ice maker run.
GE stocks and ships this part under service number WR49X10152. A single service number can sit above more than one factory-stamped board, so before you buy, match the exact number printed on your original board's sticker rather than relying on your refrigerator's model number alone.
What Does the 200D4864G023 Fix on a GE Refrigerator?
A worn control board tends to show up as one or more of the following around the kitchen.
- Ice maker sits idle and produces nothing
- Fridge compartment feels warmer than it should
- Frost accumulates fast and defrost cycles turn unreliable
- Items in the fresh food section freeze solid
- Dispenser for water or ice quits working
- Control panel or interior lights glitch out
These symptoms commonly trace back to the main control board, but a refrigerator has other parts that can cause the same complaints, including a thermistor, a door switch, wiring, or the compressor itself. If you have already ruled those out, or a technician has pointed to the board, this part is your fix. Not sure yet? Contact us before you order and our team will help you work through it.
How Do I Know If This Is the Right Board for My Refrigerator?
Order by the number stamped on your original board, not by your refrigerator's model number. Two refrigerators sharing a model number can leave the factory with different boards installed, so the sticker on the board itself is the number that counts.
That sticker sits on the face of the board and lists the full production number. If yours is hard to read or you just want a second set of eyes on it, send us a photo and our team will confirm the correct part before you buy.

This model list is for reference only. GE may change boards between production runs, so two refrigerators with the same model number can use different boards. Always order by the part number printed on your original board - it is the only identifier that decides.
Genuine OEM - FailSafe Certified™ Reconditioned
Every 200D4864G023 board from Appliance Pro USA is a genuine OEM GE board restored to reliable working condition through the FailSafe Precision Protocol™, our 4-step recertification process built around what actually fails on this board:
-
Failure Pattern Analysis - We've mapped the failure signatures specific to this board, identifying which components degrade and fail over time.
-
Targeted Component Replacement - The components this board is known to lose are replaced before they get the chance to fail.
-
Proactive Rebuild Standard - Known high-failure components are replaced with new parts on every board, regardless of whether they show a problem yet. Degraded parts don't ship.
-
Final Certification - Every board is tested and certified to our internal FailSafe Precision Protocol standard for function and lifespan before it ships.
Key Features
- Cycles the compressor, fans and defrost timing
- Carries power to the ice maker circuit
- Cross-references to GE service number WR49X10152
- Mounted at the back of the refrigerator, under the rear cover panel
Board Type and Function
This board is the switching center for a GE refrigerator's cooling system. It decides when the compressor kicks on, sequences both fans, opens and closes the air damper between the fresh food and freezer sections, and runs the defrost timer. On these models it also delivers the voltage that lets the ice maker cycle.
Common GE Refrigerator Error Codes
If your GE refrigerator is displaying an error code, the table below describes what it typically indicates. Codes marked ★ are most directly associated with main control board failure. Always verify the exact meaning in your model's owner's manual before ordering any part.
| Code |
What It Means |
| ★ HRS |
Main control board failure — system crashed or stuck in defrost. Most severe GE error |
| ★ CC |
Cooling / compressor circuit fault — board cannot communicate with compressor |
| ★ EC / E0 |
Communication error between main control board and user interface |
| ★ E4 / Er |
Defrost system error or temperature sensor fault — board-controlled cycle |
| FF |
Freezer fan failure or freezer temperature too high for 2+ hours |
| dE / DF |
Defrost system not operating properly in last 24 hours (dE) or no defrost circuit current in 48 hours (DF) |
| E2 / E3 |
Evaporator fan (E2) or condenser fan (E3) communication error |
| CI |
Ice maker fault — check for jammed ice, water supply, or ice maker assembly issue |
| PF |
Power failure detected — press System Check button to clear. Not a board fault |
| tC / tF |
Turbo Cool / Turbo Freeze active — normal function modes, not error codes |
Error code definitions vary by GE (Profile, Café, standard) model series. Always confirm the exact meaning in your refrigerator's owner's manual before purchasing any part.

How to Install a GE Refrigerator Main Control Board
Most installs take less than 30 minutes. Start by unplugging the fridge and removing the cover on the back to get to the board. Before you unhook anything, take a photo of how the wiring is connected. Touch bare metal on the frame first to ground yourself, then pull the old board and set the new one in its place. Match every connection back to your photo and close up the cover. Food is normally fine during a typical install, but we highly recommend moving it to a cooler with ice as a precaution.
Shipping
Every board is physically in stock - no backorders, no drop shipping. Orders placed before 4:00 PM EST ship the same business day. Tracking provided on every order.
Warranty
Backed by a 1-year warranty from Appliance Pro USA (registration required - the card is in the box). If the board fails due to a defect within the warranty period, we'll repair or replace it at no charge (shipping fees may apply). Warranty coverage is determined at Appliance Pro USA's discretion. Boards that have been tampered with, or with our verification stickers or holograms removed or damaged, are not eligible for warranty coverage. Damage caused by improper installation, electrical surges, or physical damage is not covered.
Returns
Returns accepted within 30 days of purchase. Items must be returned in original condition. All returns may be subject to deductions for original and return shipping fees. Restocking and retesting fees may apply to opened or installed boards - these fees are waived for exchanges, though reshipping costs and any price difference between products will apply. Boards returned with physical damage, missing components, missing or damaged hologram stickers, or signs of improper installation may not be eligible for a full refund.
Important Installation Notes
This is not a universal control board - it is a direct replacement for the part number printed on your original board. Boards that look identical can be programmed differently, so always match the number on the sticker.
Your replacement should look like the board you removed: same size, same connector layout, same mounting points. If what arrives does not match, stop before you install it and contact us with a photo of the board you took out with all of its stickers, along with a photo of the one that arrived, and we will confirm which board your refrigerator takes.
Some models may require a firmware update after installation; firmware updates and configuration changes should be performed by a qualified technician. Any board that has been flashed, reprogrammed, or had its firmware altered is not eligible for return or warranty coverage.
